Singer-songwriter Kelvin Jones, one of the busiest and most highly sought after artists internationally, has announced a host of plans leading up to his 2020 second album, including a full band tour, new single, support slots, and becoming the face of multiple international advertising campaigns. The schedule starts with freshly announced tour dates across the UK and Europe, including an appearance at Sundown Festival in Norwich and Victorious Festival in Portsmouth (details below). Off the back of a show-stopping performance at Oceanfest and BBC Introducing championing ‘Lights On’, Kelvin will play a special solo Islington show on 18th November (Tickets on sale Friday 5th July). At all shows, Kelvin will be performing global hits such as ‘Call You Home’ and ‘Closer’ from his debut album, premiering hotly anticipated new material and showcasing the huge current single ‘Lights On’.

‘Lights On’ signals Kelvin’s triumphant return, and a deeper exploration of his pop potential. Speaking about what inspired him to write ‘Lights On’, Kelvin says that; “It’s is the reason I make music. The main line; ‘I’m gonna love you with the lights on’; is, about not hiding someone’s past, flaws, or hurts, but seeing them fully and loving them anyway. Without going into detail, I went through several things that left me starving to shout this out to the world. My aim with all my new material is to put something real there, something that people can connect with and be moved by. And the fact that I get a lump in my throat when I sing ‘Lights On’ makes me feel confident that other people will have the same experience”

Riding a wave of success, the Zimbabwean born, UK raised musician has been keeping up superb momentum that all started with the viral, and certified gold, single ‘Call You Home’. The track continues to be in the public’s eye, as it received multiple international syncs (including a CenturyLink commercial aired during the Superbowl and a spot on UKs Cold Feet) and most recently features as the sound of Nescafe Poland (view the commercial HERE ). Kelvin has also been announced as the face of eBay Germany’s 20th anniversary campaign, performing a cover of the Harry Nilsson classic, ‘Everybody’s Talking At Me’; Kelvin’s second gold single was presented on June 15 th 2019 for his number 1 hit “Only Thing We Know” co-written and performed with Alle Farben, and helped bolster his monthly listens on Spotify into the millions, with overall listening figures in the hundreds of millions.

As is evident, Kelvin’s schedule is moving at breakneck speeds with no sign of slowing. While his debut album is one that any young artist would be proud of, Kelvin has evidently pushed himself even further with his new music - both vocally and lyrically. "I feel each song on this record will stand out on its own he says, ‘rather than there being a big overarching theme. It’s a snapshot of how I feel now.’

Soulful ballads are just one facet of an album that will showcase Kelvin’s unique understanding of what music fans crave in 2019: songs they can relate to, of course, but also ones that make them forget their troubles.

‘When I toured last year I realised I had one box ticked, which was that I could see couples holding hands’ Kelvin says, adding with a laugh: ‘But what I really wanted to do was write a song that made people dance their asses off!’

Growing up listening to Oasis, Kelvin developed an ear for massive choruses and big hooks... ‘songs you can’t help but sing along to’. Years later, he saw Ed Sheeran live and admired the way he got the crowds singing along to every word: ‘Being able to write songs that people connect with that much, that’s what I wanted to do’ he says.

More than anything, Kelvin is a passionate live performer. ‘Doing the tour last year and seeing how almost every show was sold out... It’s like this visible sign that I’m on the right track’ he explains. ‘How the songs translated live was a big factor when I was writing the material for my new album. I wanted the songs to live outside the studio, and for fans to be able to sing along to them.’ This year alone, Kelvin has toured as main support with Amy Shark, Nico Santos and Alvaro Soler playing to hundreds of thousands of people across Europe. In addition to his own tour dates, Kelvin will also embark on a UK tour in support of pop singer-songwriter
